Small Engine Mechanic

A small engine mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and distribution of supplies. The small engine mechanic reports directly to the Director of Purchasing.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a small engine mechanic, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Fixing small engines including leaf blowers, chainsaws, weed whackers, etc.

· Preform preventive maintenance and winterizing of equipment

· Distribution and tracking of supplies

· Make deliveries and or pick up supplies

As a small engine mechanic, you must:

· Be able to lift at least 50lbs

· Be able to bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb, pull, reach, and stand for long periods

· Wear all required PPE

· Maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time

· Be able to read, write and comprehend instructions and information

· Be able to effectively communicate with crews, management, and direct supervisor.

· Have good time management and organizational skills

· Have a willingness to learn

· Be able to hold a DOT Health Card

Small engine mechanics are required to follow company, OSHA, ANSI, and DOT rules and regulations that pertain to the industry.

This is a Monday-Friday, full time position. Typical workday is 6am-4pm, with overtime starting after 40 hours. Additional overtime is available depending on workload and large weather events.

Minimum requirements: Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years experience working with small engines is required. Valid and active drivers license for the last three (3) years is required. No formal educational degree required.
