Stanley Zuba - President & CEO

Stanley Zuba is the President, CEO and founder of Stanley Tree Service, Inc. In 1986, with just a chainsaw, pickup truck, some close friends and a vision; he created Stanley Tree Service.

Since then, the company has grown under his leadership to over 250 devoted employees. Stanley attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated with an AAS in Forestry Technology, while simultaneously working as a firefighter on campus.

Stanley then returned to Rhode Island where he is a fully licensed arborist and worked in the field as a skilled climber, bucket operator, and log truck operator building the foundation the company operates on today. Though he is no longer in the field, he focuses his leadership and dedication on inspiring the employees of Stanley Tree Service and supporting the community as the North Smithfield Town Tree Warden and a retired Warwick Firefighter.

Bruce Berard - Vice President & COO

Vice President & COO, Bruce is responsible for driving company growth/safety across all divisions and contracts throughout the overall company, reporting directly to Stan. He is responsible for overseeing all operations, contracts, and safety while continuing to build strong networks and relationships throughout the industry. He is constantly working towards building and strengthening each division as well as driving growth of new divisions.

Bruce is a hard worker with experience in running his own business and has a passion for working outdoors and leading teams. He served in the US Army till his career was cut short due to a severe knee injury, receiving an honorable medical discharge. He uses his experiences and strengths that he has learned in his short time of being a U.S. Soldier to help lead and create a positive and safe work culture within his everyday tasks. With his experience running his own business, he understands the importance of getting the job done and done right. Bruce is married with two beautiful children, a son and a daughter, who he enjoys coaching and spending time with. He also enjoys playing hockey, golf and watching sports and history documentaries.

Stephanie Clift - VP of Finance & Administration

Vice President of Finance & Administration, Steph is responsible for overseeing all financial matters for the company reporting directly to the VP & COO daily. Steph is a Certified Public Accountant with several years of experience in both the public and private sector.

During her time at Stanley Tree Service she has built and developed the finance division while continually reviewing controls/processes to ensure compliance/efficiency. The company now runs with internal software to track divisional profitability each week with the controls Steph has created. Steph manages all office and administration roles within the company keeping accounts payable, payroll, utility and commercial billing on track each week.

As a former, All American and Division 1 athlete graduating from Bryant University in 2012, she credits her work ethic and drive to her athletic upbringing. During her time at Bryant University she was named captain of her team and awarded MVP her senior year. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from Bryant, she continued her education by attaining her Masters in Professional Accountancy from Rhode Island College while working full time at a local public accounting firm. Following graduation, Steph successfully completed her CPA license and becoming licensed in the state of Rhode Island. Steph began working for Stanley Tree Service in 2016.

Between working on her career and bettering herself through continuing education, along with playing soccer at night and learning how to golf on the weekends, Steph is the mother of two beautiful daughters under the age of 5.

Paul Lozeau - Director of Safety & Operations

Director of Safety & Operations at Stanley Tree Service, Paul started at Stanley in 2007, working his way from ground man to A Foreman and beyond. As a valuable team member and “go to guy”, Paul is often asked to work alongside crews that need little to no oversight from a general foreman. These projects are often remote from our home base and projects that require close interaction between the customer and the crew. Through the experiences in the field Paul has grown and has gained a great respect for his co-workers and the safety programs that help everyone go home safe. As the Safety Director Paul takes on the responsibility of creating trainings and developing safety programs. Safety is the number one goal, through teamwork, communication and cooperation our safety program will create a culture that is respected by all.

A Smithfield native, Paul is an avid outdoors man, and hands on learning. In his junior year of high school, he started working alongside his father as a welder. After high school, his father gave him an ultimatum, either go to college to keep his health benefits or get a job that offered those benefits. Two days later he applied at Stanley Tree Service and hasn’t looked back since. The life experience and skills he has gained from working with his father and at Stanley Tree Service cannot be taught in any classroom and has helped shape the person he is today.

Ben Wheaton - Director of Utility Services

Director of Utility Services, Ben is responsible for transmission and distribution work in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. His daily responsibilities include line clearance bid work, hazard tree mitigation programs, challenging tree work others turn away, crane work and specialty work. He also provides the utility with storm crews at a moment’s notice when mother nature is at her worst.

Ben graduated from high school, went on to CCRI graduating with an associate degree. He started working at Stanley Tree during this time and quickly developed a passion for tree work. In 99’, Ben joined the US Navy to serve his country. He became part of an elite company known as the Navy Seabees in Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 from 00’-04’. Ben served during different tours around the world including a tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a Seabee, he learned the importance of quality leadership, loyalty, reliability and honesty. Values he lives by every day. After an honorable discharge, Ben decided to go back and explore his interest of tree work; he made his way back home to Stanley Tree Service.

Ben and his wife Jessica have two wonderful daughters, one is a recent graduate from Columbia College of Chicago and the other is in high school and is a competitive cheerleader. Ben is an avid Boston Sports fan and enjoys Classic Muscle Cars.

Mike Zuba - Fleet Manager

Mike has been part of Stanley Tree Service since its inception in 1986 where he supported his brother’s new business. From climbing to crane work Mike has held numerous roles and currently operates as the company’s Fleet Manager. In addition, Mike is a retired Lieutenant from the Woonsocket Fire Dept. where he worked as part of the Special Hazards team.

Mike takes great pride in the company’s fleet and works hard keep the company’s equipment safe, well maintained, and going to work every day.

When not at work Mike enjoys spending time with his family, dogs, and along with his son; maintaining and expanding the classic car collection started by his father and uncle.

Aaron Lavoie - Operations & Plant Health Care Manager

Aaron joined Stanley Tree Service in 2014 as a groundman with several years of experience in the arbor care industry. Since then, Aaron has risen through the ranks of plant heath care specialist, salesman, residential manager, and now Plant Health Care Manager. Aaron’s wide range of skills assist the company in maintaining and growing its residential facing business. As a Rhode Island Licensed and International Society of Arboriculture Arborist, plus being T.R.A.Q. certified Aaron finds himself operating as “the tree doctor” on a daily basis.

When not at work, Aaron enjoys playing ice hockey, playing golf, or riding through the forests of Rhode Island.

Ty Cardin - Senior Utility Manager

Starting in the green industry in 2009, Ty has been a member of the Stanley Tree Service team since 2011. Joining as a crew foreman, Ty now holds the position of Transmission Utility Manager.

Ty uses his well-rounded skill set from the field to manage transmission utility projects in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Ty also avidly seeks out new business opportunities and is consistently building and developing those on his team.

Outside of work, Ty is an avid competitor spending his free time outdoors mountain biking, rock climbing, and skiing.

Francisco Minaya - Bid Manager

Francisco joined the Stanley Tree Service team in 2016 as a Climber/Foreman with 12 years of experience in the arbor care industry. Since then, he has been promoted and is currently the Bid Manager for one of our Utility customers. Francisco prides himself on sharing his knowledge/experience with his team, building those beneath him and watching them grow.

Francisco enjoys the new environment this industry offers daily, and the positive energy/ enthusiasm provided by working outdoors.

When not at work, Francisco enjoys reading, traveling, learning about finance/real estate, playing softball, and going to the batting cages.

Glen Blanchette - Commercial Sales

Glen has been with Stanley Tree Service since 2021 and works on our commercial sales team. Glen has extensive experience in the excavation, land clearing, and hardscape industry offering his customers a well rounded perspective on their needs.

When not at work Glen enjoys spending time with his wife and kids as well as riding his motorcycle.

Mathieu DesMarais- Residential Manager

Matt has been with Stanley Tree Service since 2014 as groundman coming from the land clearing and firewood industry. Since being hired Matt has risen through the ranks climber, bucket operator, log truck operator, sales arborist, and now residential manager. Matt has enjoyed the tree care industry since he was very young and hopes to continue to better the industry that has given him so much.

When not at work Matt enjoys spending time golfing, hiking, snowboarding spending time with his wife and son.

Dan Murray - Commercial Sales Manager

Dan’s career in the industry started back with Stanley 20 years ago. Over the past 20 + years he has grown personally and professionally with Stanley Tree Service. He started out working as a ground man and learning the ins and out of this great profession. This experience has inspired him from all aspects and has taught him to understand the importance of true safety culture along with the business side of the world. Dan is currently managing the Rhode Island portion of the utility business assisting the Director in day to day operations.

Dan is the father of 2 children and the husband of a beautiful wife. On his off time, he enjoys playing a few rounds of golf and the outdoors. He can usually be found at one his son’s hockey games or daughter’s soccer games, is a huge Boston sports fan and enjoys going to any game that he can or watching it on T.V.

Theres only one word to describe our experience.....AMAZING!We are new to CT and have never had to cut down a tree. So when we had to remove a leaning 85 ft Silver Maple tree, we set out to get quotes. Tyler's quote was by far the best and most reasonable. The crew that came out were very friendly, knowledgeable and kept us informed throughout the day. Not only were they respectful to our property, but to our surrounding neighbors as well. When the job was complete, the yards were as clean as when they started.We have and will continue to refer Stanley Tree to all our family and friends. Once the contract was signed, tree removal was booked within a reasonable amount of time. Crew notified us and was able to arrive earlier than the expected ETA. We have an underlying septic system and they had a special pad to put under their equipment to insure there would be no damage to the system. Very professional and coordinated team. They cleaned the area of any remaining twigs and stacked the logs from the tree which another crew (log truck) came to pick up within an hour. Would definitely use Stanley Tree Service again.

Stanley Tree removed a small tree for me and ground the stump. They did a great job and removed all debris when they left my property. The stump removal team came separately and cleaned up very well when they were done. My only complaint is with communication. I was told they were coming on 6/28 to take down my tree, which they did. I was told the stump crew would be coming a few days after the tree crew, and they didn't come until 8/9. I reached out a few times in between and didn't receive a reply. They did not bill me until the job was complete, so it really wasn't a big deal, just wish the communication was a little bit better. That being said, I would definitely use them again.

We had Stanley just cut down a few smaller trees that were hanging over our house and they also trimmed a bunch near our patio area.They did an awesome job. I would like to say how impressed I was with Edmond and stanley tree service. My wife has been feeding feral cats in out neighborhood for a few years now. We have become very attached to them. When one of our cats didn't come to eat for 4 days we became very worried for him. My family went looking for the little fellow. Our neighbors across the street found him stuck in a tree. So we called the town to get the cat some help. We were told that the town didn't do that,we asked what we could do. We was told to call a tree service and the could help. So I called the tree service that I have used before, when the woman answered the phone and I started to tell her our problem . I was quite taking aback. Y her reply when l told her that we had a cat in a tree she shut me off by saying nope halfway through my question. I was silent for second because how rude she was.then I asked her if she knew who could help us and she said stanley tree service. So I called stanley and was greeted by friendly and warm people , she called Edmond who got untouched with me. When I offered money he refused it.i was so relieved to have gotten people who cared about the helpless creature. And I will send my business to stanley tree service from now on. And referred all my family and friends to Stanley's. Thank you Edmond and the stanley employees.

We have been taking care of feral cats for years, over the years we have gotten attached to many of these cats and try to get them the care they need. Recently we had one climb a tree and couldn't get down, the fire department said call a tree service. We called the tree service company that we have done business with several times. As soon as they heard "cat" they told us no, cut us off to say no. We contacted Stanley Tree, immediately they said they would help us get the cat out of the tree. Edmond was the gentleman that came out, he was awesome and determined to get that feral cat out of the tree. The cat had been stick up there for approximately 4 days. Because he knows us from feeding him and getting to the vet for care. He doesn't trust people, but Edmond got him out of the tree. This man deserves the biggest shout out in the world for his compassion and understanding. He has not taken a tree down for us yet, but he will be called when it is needed, .Stanley Tree is the only tree service I will use, you can't pay for this kind of dedication it is either there or it isn't. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to this wonderful man.

We hired Stanley Tree to remove 3 huge dead Ash trees that were a danger from dropping dead limbs. Due to their location, they needed to be dropped on top of each other to minimize damage to surrounding trees and blocking access to the rest of the yard. Vinie, Steve and Dave felled the trees perfectly and cut the trunks in manageable sections for me to finish. They also climbed the nearby trees and cut down the hangers that were 40 plus feet high. The falling trees created quite the mess as you can imagine and yet the team cleaned up the yard making it possible for me to continue to chip and cut the wood for the next several winters! I can't say enough good things about Stanley Tree. They removed a tree that fell on our roof during the recent tornado. I called them at about 1:30 am and someone actually answered the phone. They promised to have someone call in the morning. We were contacted at 6 am, someone was here 15 minutes later, and shortly after they had 3 trucks here to remove the tree. They were professional, efficient, and I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again. Hopefully for nothing major though.

Overall, a pretty satisfying experience:1. The charge to remove my 80' tall oak was a little higher than others, but the communication I had with these guys (namely Tyler) was what sold me. He sent me two different quotes at separate times faster than it takes to get a cup of coffee (that's not an exaggeration). From verbal to getting a detailed quote in an email took just a few minutes.2. They scheduled a time they would be there a few weeks out and showed up just one hour over the suggested time on that date, and worked 11 hours non-stop.3. Working over a fence, shed, deck and roof there was zero damage to anything (save for some plants but I'll take it).4. Crew knew what they were doing and did everything safely.5. If you're on a budget (like me) and want to call your cousin Jimmy to do a job like this, just remember: this company is insured and it's an extremely dangerous job.Overall very happy, will most-likely call them in the future for other work.

We had several HUMUNGOUS trees hanging right over the home we purchased last month, and Stanley tree services did an excellent job of safely and efficiently removing them! Not only did they remove the trees, but they also grinded the stumps down beautifully, and cleared seven large piles of brush around the yard! They were very reasonably priced as well! We have about 10 more trees we want to cut down in the side yard and we will definitely choose Stanley Tree Services when we are ready!

Stanley Tree Service recently removed a tall oak and ground down the stump. This was a difficult job in a tight area, a narrow strip between our garage and our neighbor's back yard. Dan and his team were extremely careful and meticulous. They padded our driveway to support the bucket truck, lowered each piece of the tree by rope, and did a thorough raking and cleanup afterwards. The stump-grinding team was equally careful. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

Three weeks ago The Stanley Tree team came to cut down two huge trees in my front yard. They arrived on time, were very courteous and professional. They cleaned everything up so well you wouldn’t know that I had trees cut down that day.This past Friday Stanley Tree a different team came back to grind the stumps. Again on time, professional, and courteous. The tree stumps and extending roots are gone. All chips are gone, and the holes are filled in. All I have to do is seed!Great company to work with. I highly recommend them!
